Answer: At the start of the TMS treatment, patients lay on the examination table/chair. The patients’ head is placed in the positioning device. The treatment paddle is placed over the left dorsal lateral motor cortex to find the trigger response. Final placement of the paddle is over the left dorsal lateral pre-frontal cortex.
Answer: Most subjects (67%) reported that the sound of the device was soothing, and 17% of patients fell asleep during the therapy. Most patients (67%) reported that sleep improved and 17% of patients reported vivid dreams. Two-patients reported improved mood. There were no reports of improvement to binge eating, anxiety, cognition, and depression. However, one participant did feel that appetite was suppressed.
